Plainsight privacy notice

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Plainsight is a small private budgeting application built for personal use by two people in Belgium. It is not a public service and has no other users.

Who is responsible

Fabian Perez, a private individual, fabo2301@gmail.com.

What the application reads

With the explicit consent of each account holder, the application reads their own bank account information (transactions and balances) through a licensed account information provider, Enable Banking. Access is read-only. The application cannot make payments or change anything at the bank.

Why

To categorise the account holders' own spending, split shared costs between them and plan a household budget. The data is not used for advertising, profiling or any purpose beyond this.

Who can see it

Only the two account holders. Each account holder sees the other's shared transactions in full and the other's personal spending only as category totals. The data is not sold or shared with anyone else.

Where it is kept and for how long

On a server controlled by the person responsible. Data is kept while the account holder uses the application, and deleted on request or when access is withdrawn.

Your rights and withdrawing consent

An account holder can withdraw consent at any time in their bank's app, and can ask for their data to be exported or deleted by writing to the address above. Complaints can be sent to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
